James Carrion earned degrees in Russian language and international affairs at Florida State University. He is a former intelligence analyst for the U.S. Army, all of which contributed to his research interests in Russian espionage, the Cold War, and how deception and UFO reports factor into the complex circumstances. James was the International Director for the Mutual UFO Network from 2006-2009.

A historic forensic researcher, James respects quality standards of evidence and relies primarily upon such sources as authenticated documents, newspaper clippings, and declassified records.
